Tuckey during a moment of enlightenment Following his controversial comments blaming the proposed 'Super Profits Tax' for the disappearance of Australian mining executives flying over the Republic of Congo, Wilson Tuckey has gone on the offensive once more, pointing the finger at the Rudd government as the reasons for David Jones CEO Mark McInnes' escape overseas. The disgraced executive, accused of inappropriate conduct towards female staff during his time as an executive in the retail giant, has fled to Bangkok with his pregnant girlfriend to avoid media criticism.
Tuckey seized on the opportunity to attack the Rudd government, already suffering in recent NewsPolls and a scathing media reception. The Liberal MP highlighted the time span between the Henry Tax Review, recommending the changes to the mining tax system, and the scandal involving the David Jones executive, describing the two as "cause and effect".
"A forty-percent tax on our resources, McInnes flees overseas, and now these mining executives go missing - coincidence? I think not" Tuckey told waiting media outside of Parliament House this morning.
"Not only that, but today Rudd read a speech in Chinese to great applause - I bet he was joking about those poor executives, the scumbag."
Tuckey, no stranger to controversy, has denied claims that he is consistently drunk while conducting media interviews.
"All that I say came from a sober and intelligent head."
The saga continues.
