Extra-terrestrial life forms across the galaxy have condemned the planet Earth today, following Fridays launch of a series of rocket attacks on the south-pole of the moon. In what has been described as an “unprovoked attack on a sovereign satellite”, Earth has been accused of planning for an upcoming illegal invasion of the lunar surface.

Alien-rights groups have expressed outrage at the attack and rumours of a possible invasion of the Earth’s moon, claiming the cultural impact and civilian death toll could be enormous. “The moon is home to a two billion year old culture, inhabitants have lived peacefully there before human beings even appeared on Earth” the spokesalien for the Galaxy of Planets for Peace Association told WPN, through translation. “And now these Earthlings want to set up colonies and tell the lunar people what’s best for them? It’s preposterous!”

“We’ve seen the way Earth has been treated, and we won’t allow the same to happen on their moon.”

Earth association NASA meanwhile has defended the launch, describing it in a press-release as being “purely scientific in nature, with no malice or threat intended.” The purpose of the mission has been described as an attempt to uncover signs of water buried beneath the lunar surface, which may be used on future space missions by the planet.

Neighbours are skeptical however, a representative of Jupiter quoted as saying “We don’t understand why Earth would spend so much of its resources on this launch if it had nothing to gain. We’ve studied the activities of its inhabitants for a long time now, and know they are a selfish, self-centered species.”

Discussion continues within the United Planets as to the course of action they will take following this unprecedented attack, though the galaxy remains on high-alert with fears of another pre-emptive strike by Earth. The inhabitants of the moon have remained in the shadows throughout the event, and are not expected to release a statement.

Meanwhile plans are reportedly underway to build a McDonalds, Burger King and KFC on the lunar surface.
